Architectural Standards
Architectural Standards (last revised January 2021)

The Architectural Review Board (ARB) is charged with preserving the exterior appearance of Burke Centre. This is accomplished by reviewing requests for all exterior modifications within Burke Centre, both private homeowners and commercial properties, and ensuring compliance with the Architectural Standards adopted by the Board of Trustees. An exterior modification can mean anything from a color change to construction of a major addition.

The Architectural Standards will help you determine what is acceptable for modifications, if you need to submit an application and obtain approval, and what information needs to be included with an application. The Standards also contain a glossary, pictures and illustrations, the review processes, and maintenance expectations.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Conservancy staff in the Architectural Review Board department at 703-978-2928 or [email protected].
